FAQ

  • Why do I have to make an appointment?

We operate on an appointment-only basis to give each client our undivided attention and deliver a fully personalised experience. This ensures we can plan your treatment in advance and maintain the calm, welcoming vibe that sets OBC apart.

  • Is my card charged at time of booking?

No. Your card details are securely held by Fresha (our booking partner) in order to secure your appointment, but no payment is taken, unless you cancel, reschedule or miss your appointment. As we are all self-employed, payment is made directly to your therapist at your appointment, so please ensure to bring your payment card(s) & phone with you!

  • Is there parking?

Yes, there’s free and paid on-street parking available near the salon. However, some restrictions apply (please refer to street signage) and meter spaces can be limited at busy times, so we recommend arriving a little early to secure your spot. We have very limited parking available in our courtyard, so request you only use this if you have extra mobility needs.

  • Is the salon accessible?

Our salon is designed to be as accessible as possible, with ground-level access and space to accommodate mobility aids. We also have limited parking available in our private courtyard for clients with additional mobility needs. If you have specific accessibility needs or questions, please contact us before your appointment, and we’ll do everything we can to make your visit comfortable.

Please note, we do not currently have an accessible toilet, but our neighbours at Heist & Cutlery Works are happy for you to visit their toilet facilities until ours is installed.

  • Which service should I book?

If you’re unsure, feel free to reach out to us on text or WhatsApp [07946 491013], email [offbeatbeautycollective@gmail.com] or your chosen therapist directly via DM on social media for advice (see the team page for links).

  • How do nail art tiers work?

Our nail art is divided into four tiers—Earth, Water, Air, and Fire—based on complexity and time required. From simple accents like glitter or foil (Earth) to intricate character designs or multi-layered sets (Fire), there’s something for everyone. Check out the Nail Art page for a full breakdown, or chat with your nail tech if you have a specific design and aren’t sure which tier it falls into.

  • Why do I have to pay a cancellation fee?

Late cancellation fees are applicable in all circumstances (within 48 hours of your appointment time), including illness. When you book an appointment, we reserve that time specifically for you. Last minute alterations to services, late reschedules/cancellations or missed appointments mean we can’t fill the spot, which impacts our small, independent business. A cancellation fee helps cover the time and preparation we’ve already dedicated to your booking.
